The Challenge

Faced with the sobering reality that our international community may not meet its net-zero emissions goals by 2050, Stardust Solutions has been creating and testing an advanced solar radiation management (SRM) solution designed to temporarily shield the earth from portions of incoming sunlight. Although this cutting-edge approach has the potential to dramatically reduce the amount of heat absorbed by the planet, the company needed to secure both buy-in and support from the United States government and other influential stakeholders to move forward. This effort demanded a well-connected and authoritative partner who could introduce Stardust to a group of experts able to research, validate, deploy, and regulate its SRM technology.

RDS' Solution

To help Stardust develop a robust understanding of the stakeholders across various federal agencies, private companies, non-profit organizations, academic institutions, and media outlets, RDS looked to its active roster of experts to identify relevant individuals, guide outreach strategies, and build opportunities to form authentic connections. They leveraged their decades of experience overseeing global research initiatives and guiding national policies to support Stardust with numerous activities, including:

  • Vision Setting and Strategy Development

  • Market Research and Environmental Scanning

  • Business Case Development

  • Brand Positioning, Storytelling, and Material Development

  • Stakeholder Engagement

  • Executive Communications Support

  • Partnership and Coalition Building

  • Public and Media Relations Management
